In Brighton this week, over 50 leading figures from the housing world come together to debate the key issues facing homeowners, private renters and social housing tenants in the South East of England.

The speakers are all heading to Brighton, from as far away as California, to attend our South East's Annual Conference and Exhibition - one of the largest housing events in the UK with over 1,000 delegates scheduled to attend.

The event features senior representatives from local government, Audit Commission, Communities and Local Government, mortgage lenders, housing associations, local authorities, consultants, academics, politicians, homelessness charity Shelter, National Housing Federation, tenant representative bodies and the Government's two brand new agencies - Homes and Communities Agency and the Tenant Services Authority - created just over three months ago to tackle the ever growing challenges of the housing market.

The wide variety of speakers includes Dan Cruickshank - architectural historian and TV presenter, Councillor Paul Bettison - Leader of Bracknell Forest Unitary Authority, Mike Lazenby - Chief Executive, Kent Reliance Building Society, Gary Peltzer Dunn - Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Richard Blakeway - Director of Housing, Office of the Mayor of London, Roger Bootle - former Chief Economist of HSBC, Paul Carter - Leader of Kent County Council and Richard McCarthy CBE - Director General, Housing and Planning, Communities and Local Government.
