'Learning to be Active', a resident empowerment event
27 November 2008 in Sevenoaks
11 December 2008 in Oxford
This free one-day event will explore the Chartered Institute of Housing's programmes for residents.
The Active Learning for Residents Programme recognises the achievements of tenants and residents through a new range of qualifications. This programme will be launched on 23 October 2008.
Anyone who is active in their community can participate - the qualifications are particularly relevant to tenant board representatives, members of tenant representative groups, resident groups and other people actively involved in their communities.
The event will help you understand the work of the CIH in relation to residents, learning about the importance and benefits of resident involvement. You will find out more about the Active Learning for Residents Programme and resident involvement more generally.
The day is aimed at landlords, tenants, residents, and participation and engagement workers. Learning and development specialists in local authorities and housing associations involved in developing new resident inclusion strategies will also find it useful.
Contributors include Kay Duerdoth, Newman Francis; Ros Young and Sue Lelliott, Real Strategies Ltd; and Ashraf Ahmed, CIH Resident Involvement Manager.
