Kate Fereday Eshete works with a team at the Tara Centre in Gondar, a remote city in the northern Ethiopian Highlands. As this year's Chair's charity, the team has been able to put the £8,218 raised from the CIH South East conference and golf day to good use.
Debbie Harvey, Senior Project Manager for Drum Housing in Petersfield, gained a first-class degree for her BA (Hons) Social Housing. And, as a result, has been awarded a CIH Achievement Award.

The election to fill vacancies for national representatives on the CIH's 32-member governing Council will be held in March. Two members from the South East region - Steve Benson and Alison Breese - sit on the Council at the moment.

Tim Crook, Principal Solicitor at housing law services, presents his regular housing law update. In this issue he looks at importance of using plain and simple language in court orders to make sure they are enforceable.
Reporting back on our recent events
Three highly-successful CIH South East events have been held in the last couple of months - our Home Ownership Conference, a half-day event looking at the impact of the Single Equality Bill on housing, and a practitioners' training seminar.
