South East seminar - poverty in housing, CIH London office

An event focusing on the challenges and opportunities that young people currently face in the UK. It identifies what inspires young people and how those from vulnerable backgrounds can deal with poverty, housing opportunities, unemployment and the many other challenges they face. It explores the housing issues that are impacting on young people in the South East region.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation, which is monitoring child poverty and proposing policy solutions to help end it, leads a session on how poverty is effecting young people in the South East. And, with representatives from a youth group, discussing what can be done to help the youth in poverty move forward.

Leading CIH benefits expert Sam Lister speaks about the welfare reform, its impact on young people and the future of housing welfare in relation to young people.
