About us
The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) is the professional body for people working in housing. Our purpose is to maximise the contribution that housing professionals make to the well being of communities. The Chartered Institute of Housing South East Region is the largest region of the CIH in the country.
We represent people working in housing in the South East.
As one of the largest regions of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the South East region supports over 2000 members across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent.
Membership is diverse. We support housing professionals from housing associations, local authorities, developers, consultancies, academic institutions and charities. We also support retired members, students and tenants.
We bring people together.
The South East region is proud to hold the biggest regional housing conference and exhibition. Every year over 1500 delegates, speakers, exhibitors and exhibition visitors play an active part in the event.
The region organises regular study trips to cities throughout Europe and Canada. Visits have so far taken place to Barcelona, Caen, Le Havre, Copenhagen, Brussels, Vienna, Berlin and Montreal.
The region hosts seminars, workshops and other events, responding to the interests of the members. We also organise social events - charitable golf days, cruises, away days and attend the presidential dinner.
We keep you in touch.
The Chartered Institute of Housing South East region plays an active part in influencing both regional and national policy. We ask for your input into a regional response to any consultations on an ongoing basis.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the region keeps you constantly informed of any relevant support to benefit you.
The region distributes Branch Eye, a quarterly newsletter, to all members. The region's newly developed website plays a key role in providing information to members and non-members.
